What really prompted me to write this post was this article written by the sun:
Here is a link to the article
Firstly, it's an absolute crap headline. It's not exactly catchy is it?
This is the so-called 'scantily-clad, sexy image'. A large amount of Zoellas fanbase is younger that 13. The image was on Snapchat. The minimum age or Snapchat, like most other social medias is 13, there is no age requirement for 'The sun'.
The article then goes on to say she ' flashed her toned midriff, going braless in a tight white top'. She is quite clearly wearing a bra and definitely not tight. I'm sure if it was a picture of a man in this position you'd be promoting his 'sexiness' and 'manliness'.
If anything this is showing girls that she is comfortable in her own skin. She is a role model and she has definitely not 'shown a more risqué side.'
Zoella wears underwear. Big deal, shocking news. Maybe you should try posting on something important rather that attacking women on wearing underwear and promoting images of men whom wear less.
Thanks to Zoellas dedicated fanbase a hashtag has been trending on twitter of #westandwithzoe. Let's be sensible and not sexualise women, we're in 2016.
